New York: Harper & Brothers, Publishers, Franklin Square, 1940. Edna St. Vincent Millay (1892-1950) was an American poet who was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry. This is the March, 1940 reprinting of the first edition of the book bearing some of her most recognized and oft-quoted poems, including "First Fig" and "Second Fig". This reprint is identified is rather esoterically by "C-P" on the copyright page ("C" for the month of March and "P" for the year 1940).
The binding the publisher's charcoal cloth spine with paper title label over gray paper covered boards with charcoal cloth corners. condition is very good. The binding is square and tight with light soiling and trivial chipping at the edges of the spine label. The contents are slightly age-toned, but show no spotting. The pastedown bears an inked gift inscription. Item #003884
