New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1931. First edition. Periodical. Scribner's Magazine, Vol. XC, No. 1. New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1931. This volume of Scribner’s Magazine includes a short novel in full by Grace Flandrau, a once very successful novelist, though now largely forgotten. Also included in this magazine are essays by British novelist Ford Madox Ford, historian Lewis Mumford, and Poet Laureate Allen Tate.
This copy of the original magazine appearance of this essay approaches very good condition, particularly given the inherent fragility of the publication. The wraps binding remains tight, the bright orange wraps complete and firmly attached. We note some wear to extremities, light overall soiling, some spine toning, and a slight forward lean. The contents are bright and clean with no spotting and no appreciable toning. Item #004176
